Preparing for PEMF therapy
+Get the most out of your PEMF session+
How long before my appointment should I arrive?
It's generally recommended to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled PEMF therapy appointment. This extra time allows you to complete any necessary paperwork and discuss any concerns or questions.
What will my PEMF therapy session look and feel like?
A typical PEMF therapy session involves lying or sitting comfortably while a device directs electromagnetic pulses towards specific areas of the body. The session can last anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes, depending on your specific needs. You might feel a gentle pulsing or nothing at all during the treatment, and it's common for people to feel restful or even fall asleep.
What level of control do I have over the intensity of the PEMF?
The level of control you have over the intensity of the PEMF therapy can vary depending on the device. Tolerance and comfort levels for the Magnetic Field Strength, Pulses Per Second, and use of the accessories will vary from user to user, so figuring out what you prefer may take time. We might adjust the settings based solely on feedback and comfort level, while others may follow a predetermined protocol. It's important to communicate with your Pulse Professional about what you're feeling during the session so adjustments can be made as needed.
What medications should I avoid?
There are no widespread restrictions on medications in relation to PEMF therapy, but it's crucial to inform your Pulse Professional about any medications or supplements you're taking. Some medications might influence your body's response to the therapy, so a comprehensive discussion is important.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes to your PEMF session; you’ll receive therapy fully clothed. Metals can interfere with the electromagnetic fields, so avoid wearing clothing with large metal buttons, zippers, or other significant metal components. Comfort is key, as you'll be lying or sitting upright.
Should I eat or drink?
Eating a light meal or snack before your session is generally fine, but it's advisable to avoid a heavy meal right before the session to prevent any discomfort. Staying hydrated is also important, so drinking water before and after your session is a good idea to help facilitate your body's healing processes.
What if I’m menstruating?
There's no evidence to suggest it should be avoided during your period. However, if you have any concerns or experience significant discomfort during your menstrual cycle, discuss these with your PEMF professional before starting the session.
How far apart should I schedule my PEMF sessions?
When starting PEMF, we recommend booking at least two sessions a week, but it is safe to receive daily. After your initial appointment series, we offer packages and maintenance plans with weekly or monthly sessions.
What can I do to get the most from PEMF therapy?
Eating a clean, healthy diet and being well hydrated are great ways to support any wellness program. We also recommend a humic/fulvic supplement before and after the session.
